From the Hills

From Seed to Healing — Real Oil, Real Roots

Not all castor oil is created equal. At YaadiHerbs, we still make it the traditional way — fire-boiled, hand-shelled, sun-dried, and slow-roasted in the hills of Jamaica. No shortcuts. No machines. Just bush wisdom and ancestral fire.

Let us take you behind the scenes of how our Jamaican Black Castor Oil is truly made.

🌿1. Picking the Right Castor Seeds

It begins with the bush. We walk through the hills and riverbanks to gather ripe, spiky castor pods by hand — often under sun or early morning dew. The plant is sacred to our elders and known for its deep healing properties.

Once picked, we lay the pods in the sun for 1–2 weeks to dry, so the seeds burst free on their own.

🔥2. Roasting the Seeds Over Fire

When the seeds are fully dried, we roast them in a large iron pot over a wood fire — just like our grandparents did. This is where the oil gets its rich, smoky scent and dark color. The fire element also activates the oil’s potency.

The roasted seeds are then ground using a mortar and pestle (or a hand mill if necessary) until they form a thick paste.

💧3. Boiling It Down

Next, we mix the paste with water and return it to the fire. This time, it’s a long, bubbling boil. The oil slowly rises to the surface — thick, golden-brown, and powerful. We skim it carefully, bottle it, and let it settle.

This is real Jamaican Black Castor Oil — not diluted, not factory-processed, and never bleached.

💆🏾 4. Why It Works

Our oil is rich in ricinoleic acid and omega fatty acids, making it powerful for:

  • Hair growth & scalp repair
  • Dry skin, eczema & inflammation
  • Joint and muscle relief
  • Ritual use in womb, root, and crown care

Each bottle is a product of patience, earth, and ancestral fire.

📍Made in St. Andrew, Jamaica

YaadiHerbs Castor Oil is made right in the hills — not in a lab. We don’t cut corners because we know healing takes time. This is more than a product. It’s a ritual. A return to the real.
